Big BrotherThe Motion Picture Association of America is suing Pullmylink and says that the site promotes and makes a profit from media that infringes on copyrights. This is the seventh time that the MPAA has done such an action since last year. They have not yet gone after sites such as YouTube. We are thinking that they look at this as free advertising as opposed to serious pirating, which they say has cost them billions of dollars of loss.

Pullmylink claims it has 12,000 visitors a day and more than 39,000 pages of free content. Their Superpass offers 100+ ad-free radio stations, 10 music downloads a month, RealPlayerPlus, and live feeds, such as the one for Big Brother. With their 14 day free trial, you had better hurry, just in case.

Amazon logoFollowing the likes of Wal-mart, Best Buy, and Future Shop, Amazon is giving customers a $50.00 credit for any HD DVD Player bought on its site before February 23. If you were one of those that purchased from the company, you might have received an e-mail from them that stated:

“New technologies don’t always work out as planned. We at Amazon.com value our customer relationships more than anything and would like to support customers who purchased these players by offering a credit good for $50 off any products sold by Amazon.com…”

The offer stands until April 9 and the credit can be used for Blu-ray players or more HD products, many of which are up to 60% off on Amazon.

RTI T2-CIf you would like to dress up your remote control, smartphone, or Blackberry,  the Remote Shoppe is offering free downloads. Included are over 150 JPG backgrounds, designed for the RTI T2-C Remote, about 40 beeps and blips, and Wavs from StarWars, South Park, and other movies and TV shows. Your device must have a 240 x 320 vertical resolution to handle the background images and we are thinking that some of those Wavs would make nifty ringtones.

If you are a budding entrepreneur but find that CafePress is too large to cope with, consider Zlio. The site launched originally in France in 2006, but arrived in the States this past January. You simply create a shop (or 50 of them,) and name it, choose a template, and feature products that you think would sell, such as electronics, clothing, toys, or this one that features its own category. It even caught the attention of Reuters.

By now there are over 200,000 online shops, but if you get creative, you can make a few bucks from commissions. You don’t have to buy your own products first or obtain a license, you only need to select what you want from more than 120 merchants featuring over 3 million products. Zlio’s founder and CEO Jeremie Berrebi says it best, “It’s the Tupperware party concept gone online.”

2go PC

Another laptop has entered the competition at minimal cost. In addition to the Asus EEE and the OLPC, the Intel 2g0 PC has also been designed mainly for students. It features an Intel Celeron M CPU with 915GMS chip,  512 MB RAM (which is upgradeable to 1GB,) and 40GB storage. The 9-inch device also has a 800 x 480p resolution, and room for an SD card. Available in the next couple of months, the 2go should retail for ~$400.00.

Franklin DictionaryWe admit it. We dig Woot, the Big Lots of the Internet. It’s hard to ignore a site that plays “Let’s Make a Deal” daily and offers electronic gadgets that we never knew we needed until we stumbled onto the site. The catch is that you cannot return the merchandise and when you sober up, you realize that with about 10 dictionaries hanging around the house, you could have done without Franklin’s Dictionary & MP3 Player for about $17.00, even if that cost is less than half its $40.00 retail price. Still, it is worth your time checking it out, as they offer some fun stuff at amazing mark-downs.
